Being keen sports fans and always happy to help a local cause,Â
Web Wise Business have recently helped Buy
Stirling Albion FC, the campaign devised to enable the club's fans to buy and own the team, by becoming a business supporter of the club.
Â
Having been on sale for several years with no serious bidders, theÂ
Stirling Albion supporters trust embarked upon a totally unique venture to allow fans from across the world to own a real football league club. For a small fee of £40, fans will be entitled to vote on all key decisions of the club, from who the next club president will be, to the team kit design.
Â
The campaign aims to put the club in the hands of its supporters in order to not only ensure its continued survival, but also to enable the club to grow and thrive under complete community ownership.
Â
Â
As the site of the worlds oldest known football, found during excavation of Stirling castle and believed to have been the property of Mary Queen of Scots, the campaign to buy the central Scotland team has been gathering significant backing with a number of famous faces lending their support to the cause. Celebrities such as chef Gordon Ramsey, TV historian Neil Oliver and even Real Madrid galactico Christiano Ronaldo.
Â
Already in its third month, the campaign has already reached its initial target for funding, however the incumbent chairman Peter McKenzie has, as yet, refused to agree on a deal. With support for the cause strong and growing, it surely won't be long before Stirling Albion become the first community owned professional football team.
